Igulb

Igulb. The Diving Pokemon.

Igulb evolves into Aquana at level 18.

Igulb is a dual Light/Water Pokemon, meaning that it is weak to Grass and Ghost attacks.

Igulb is a dark blue, with dark green sea-weed strands acting like hair. It has a a tail, which has at its end an intense sphere of light energy, trapped in a film of water. Igulb are found at cliff edges as they drop away into the sea. They can often be seen running along and jumping off these cliffs. However, despite being the Diving Pokemon, Igulb cannot learn dive. So it uses the move Slam, which it learns early, to break the impact of hitting the water, by thrusting it's powerful tail down first. As they line cliff edges, at night they are very useful for sailors, who can see their glowing tails, and know to steer clear of the rocks.

Igulb is very much an all-rounder Pokemon. It also learns two increased priority moves: Aqua Jet and Light Dash, as well as the powerful Slam before it evolves, making it a tough competitor in fights for beginner trainers. However, Grass attacks will hit it for x4 damage. Igulb's name is based on iguana and bulb.
